Excellent points, which I agree with. I'm only collecting mainly sci-fi and certain classic film characters/franchises. So, I'm good with my collection not being oversaturated.

I have been looking at hot toy figures for a few years now but due to financial constraints i have not been able to get into it. With my financial situation being alot better now, i got my first figure(Beskar Mando), and my IM mk85, is on the way. I currently have 4 others on pre-order and can't wait to get them all and build my collection

My story is exactly like yours. Now i am only strictly hot toys 1/6 scale. I stick only with dc, marvel, star wars. I only collect what i love and if i have one iron man is my favorite and not 10 just to have iron man. I am about half way to complete what i want and then i will be done collecting. Dont plan to have more than 50 ever. I am at 25. I also keep a balance view and i am extremely patience. Thanks for video

I get your point with the quality/cost of Hot Toys stuff, but I think that in combination with spending more money on custom parts and pieces on 1/12 figures (and still be cheaper than a 1/6 figure itself) such figures figures CAN ideed look like miniature-versions of a 1/6 scale figure. At least I did so with a lot of pieces in my collection and I love customizing and displaying them! Still, it is depending on what you prefer personally and like I said, I geht your point(s).

I've been looking at Hot Toys for years, just never had the money, but as soon as I can, I'll get into Sixth Scale collecting. I've already picked the first Hot Toy Sixth Scale figure 😎😎 I watch collection room tours, figure and statue reviews and unboxing videos and tips and tricks to display collectables and which cabinets that you should get depending on your budget so I can plan my room, collection, and how everything is displayed

I just made my first purchases days ago! To keep things in "control" I'm starting out with a theme. My first figures are Gold theme: Ironman Midas, Gold WW, Gold Harley Quinn, Iron Spider..

Thinking I'll have each row another "color" starting w/ a spidey and ironman as they are my favorite and also have the most variants:)

I'm a statue guy, but you can't deny the appeal of hot toys. The detail and being able to pose them... it's a great experience.
I've PO-ed the clone wars series and I'm very excited to get them hopefully towards the end of the year!

I became a collector of 1/6 in 2022. I decided to concentrate on only 1 thing : SW Clone Wars and get many of these to pose in a few dioramas of epic battle ...
But how could I pass a few iconic figures because they were in the original series? Why not also do a Jabba's Palace/throne room? And so I started hunting those out and bought many of those as well!
Then I saw that there are a few Mando figure worth taking too while they are now coming out so I took a few of those.
I started watching Titan series not long ago so finding the new Bat Girl (Before the wheel chair!), Nightwing and Robin, I decided I had to get a few of those as well in a Diorama against Deathstroke...

My point is that with Only 8 days in 2022 I spent a fair amount of $, much more than I want to say here and now I need to move to stage 2 and clean the room and buy displays to pose them properly as I imagine in my head...

All that and I have yet to receive a single figure lol! I think I really went all in here but it's going to be epic!!

Just subscribed because of this video. I’m a veteran Hot Toys collector, I even own a store with a Sideshow wholesale account so I peddle these things as well and this is a part of the market/industry not talked enough about. Pretty spot on here. A few more things I’d have addressed but overall, I hope more content like this comes out so these figures are more accessible to the average collector. Let me know if you’d ever like a collab some time! I can at least bring a retail perspective to the conversation.
