These poor horses 😢 it’s disgusting what humans have done to this beautiful horse breed 😢

It is a terrible thing how humans ruined a lovely breed of horse by indiscriminate breeding.

I'm all for improving a horses conformation, but when people try and breed for larger horses, things start going out of whack.

You can see the effects start to occur with foals that start developing to large of muscles too quickly, and then the foal loses movement if someone doesn't interfere, eg. Stretches, exercise and a special diet, or even wheened from their mum earlier than theyre supposed to be.

QH are my favorite breed, such impressive animals! These horses are naturally strong and very muscular, of course some are less and some more than others but they are naturally muscular and of course there are breeders who like to exaggerate, as well as dog or pony breeders who look for increasingly smaller animals without caring about the animal's health. What I mean is, don't confuse a well-muscled Quarter Horse with a overbred Quarter Horse. You can tell an animal has been bred improperly when they are anatomically wrong like the ones in the video: poor structure, excess mass, etc. Furthermore, the way an animal is worked makes all the difference in its physique. The "Good example QH" shown in the videos are work in competition that require lighter physical effort, such as Western Pleasure (which is beautiful, You guys have to see it!) and there animals worked in modalities that require more physical conditioning such as Reining and racing.

Halter horses are definitely overbred, they have many many health issues causing them to not stay sound most the time. 98% of quarter horses aren’t like that, and don’t have those sorts of issues.

Unscrupulous humans will always be our downfall.

Some of those pics have been manipulated. But people should be careful not to breed in deformities for sure.

I swear, it seems like we humans have the potential to ruin anything that we can get our hands on, including lovely animals. For example, with the bully breeds of dogs, we kept breeding aggressive traits in them for generation upon generation, resulting in a degree of aggression that's characteristic of bully breeds today. Not all of these dogs will be inherently aggressive, but it is a factor to consider when owning or working with one. These beefed up Quarter Horses in this video are _really_ unnerving to look at. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Quarter Horses in this video were the result of inbreeding. Not only that, but I can imagine all of the potential health/genetic problems that these horses probably have.
