Improving race relations

A diverse group of Americans are demanding change in policing, equity and in the criminal justice system, as the unrest continues in America in the wake of George Floyd's death. Joining us to discuss race relations in the U.S. is Dr. JeffriAnne Wilder, a sociologist and leading scholar who specializes in diversity and race relations.

Improving relations, yes. Tipping- point, no; enjoying virus no. Remembering one wrongful death, yes. One perpetrator responsible for all the past wrongs, no; what you smokin? There will always be a 'wrong' something, but we can try to get along.

So how do we fix race relations? Does anyone have any concrete plans or ideas besides empty platitudes? Or maybe, maybe there is no systematic racial issue in the country and there are those who profit off of this "racial divide" and seek to keep it there.

Remember Justine Ruszczyk! About 3 years ago in Minneapolis. There was a fatal police shooting of Justine Ruszczyk, an unarmed white woman who called 911. She heard a woman’s screams in her backyard. There was no video of the shooting. There was no audio. And the black officer involved, Mohamed Noor, would not answer investigator’s questions. For nearly two years, Minneapolis waited for an answer. Both officer’s body cams were off at the time. Now convicted, Officer Noor is in prison for possibly 10 years. My ancestors came from England, Germany, The Congo, Norway, Cameroon, France, Estonia, and Southern Bantu tribes. And I believe, ALL LIVES MATTER!

Its simple we just have to decriminize crime and not police black areas. Problem solved

Start with mental, moral and racial belief back ground checks on all police officers everywhere. Followed by intense training.

Its heartbreaking watching the murder of George Floyd. I lost it when he was crying out for his mother. Improvements do need to be made but settings fire to the same communities where low income families live and work needs to end. However, their are agitators by outside forces and groups are making things worse and eventually make it more harder for change to occur.
