2021 FIDE World Cup takes place in Sochi, Russia, from July 12 to August 6. 206 of the world's top players, including the world champion Magnus Carlsen, take part in the competition.

The two finalists will qualify for the 2022 Candidates Tournament, in addition to winning the 110.000 USD first prize and 80.000 USD for the runner-up.

One of the worst commentary performances, moving pieces randomly, taking back, then moving them again, at one point you have no idea which is the actual game, really really bad

Short is excruciatingly awful. Did he really think the viewers would find him reading the poem in a Russian accent funny? Why did he keep talking about poetry once the games started? Roald Dahl?! I bet Scripchenko was relieved when it was over. She was great.
