Binomial Theorem | NCERT Solutions | Ex 8.1, 8.2, Miscellaneous

In this video, first we will recap the formulae which are there in this chapter and then solve most of the questions
from the exercises 8.1, 8.2 and Miscellaneous exercise.
1. Ex. 8.1 – Q.5 - Expand using Binomial Theorem: (x + 1/x)^6
2. Ex. 8.1 – Q.10 - Using Binomial Theorem, indicate which number is larger (1.1)^10000 or 1000.
3. Ex. 8.1 – Q.14 - Prove that ∑ 3^r nCr = 4^n where 0 ≤ r ≤ n
4. Ex. 8.2 – Q.2 - Find the coefficient of a^5 b^7 in (a – 2b)^12
5. Ex. 8.2 – Q.6 - Find the 13th term in the expansion of (9x – 1/3√x)^18, x ≠ 0.
6. Ex. 8.2 – Q.12 - Find a positive value of m for which the coefficient of x^2 in the expansion (1 + x)^m is 6.
7. Ex. Mis – Q.2 - Find a if the coefficients of x^2 and x^3 in the expansion of (3 + ax)^9 are equal.
8. Ex. Mis – Q.4 - If a and b are distinct integers, prove that a – b is a factor of a^n – b^n, whenever n is a positive integer.
9. Ex. Mis – Q.6 - Find the value of [a^2 + √(a^2 - 1)]^4 + [a^2 - √(a^2 - 1)]^4
10. Ex. Mis – Q.10 - Find the expansion of (3x^2 – 2ax + 3a^2)^3 using binomial theorem.
