Vava Home Cam Beta Testing

The Vava Dash camera has been awesome and now they have released the vava home cam which will be available to the public very soon. i've been beta testing this camera and so far it's been awesome. the only downfall that I see right now is the battery life is horrible but they say the cameras haven't been optimized yet.

This is obviously a kickstarter scam. There is no possible way this device could last a year on a charge. The 5 days stated in the video is actually impressive. Do not expect things to get better than that.

Features and image quality look decent. I'd still prefer hardwired cameras, having to charge cameras is a pain

Thanks for sharing. Since you're one of the few to have received a free sample, can you please share more about your experience on how notifications work and false alarms so far? Perhaps you could upload a follow up video please?

Btw. on the campaign page comments VAVA said the review samples apparently didn't contain the final cell, perhaps the final one will have a larger capacity besides the power management calibration via software tweaks.

unfortunately you can't replace the battery yourself due its ip66 rating. on Kickstarter you can get them with solar panel but I wonder if that during winter can keep up with energy demands

In hindsight... completely and utterly useless. After a very long wait, only a small part of the Kickstarter backers actually received their cams. And no, the battery life didn't even come close to 1 year... 2 months at best, but on average 2-3 weeks.
And with the current version of the app, many of those can't even access the base station (after pairing, the app continuously shows the base stations as 'offline'). VAVA abandoned the Kickstarter and all the backers who still haven't received anything, they removed the Home Cam website (and all references to it from their own website) and all emails about the Home Cam to VAVA customer support are ignored and remain unanswered.
