Good video and love the Makita! One remark: call me old fashioned but I prefer a drill driver instead of an impact driver for spade bits.

I just picked up a set of Bosch daredevils for $14 at HD .

Awe Vince,
You jinxed the bit when you "Milwaukeed" it, LMAO!

But seriously,
I like the bit. Mostly because its red, lol.
Let's see a comparison with the Bosch Daredevil! The original "self feeding" bit.
Put the 2 Devils to the test?

GO Vince!

Great to see the Makita tools. Would enjoy seeing more reviews of Makita products.

Coincidentally, (or not) the Robert Bosch company, parent company of Bosch Tools, also happens to own another company called Diablo.
Yes it's a marketing gimmick, and sorry Vince, you fell for it. It's a set of Bosch daredevil bits rebranded and a nice paint job, so all the guys that love the Diablo stuff (myself included- they make the best sawzall blades, grinder discs, etc) will buy them.
I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing they come out with is all the Diablo blades painted blue and packaged as Bosch.

I have several Diabalo paddle bits that are my go to for angled starts (45 degrees are no problem), then I’ll finish with their Forster bits for a nice clean shoulder.

for rough work rock it and it'll open the hole a teeny bit and come right out no friction they last forever that way too i guess the heat kills the temper. also nails ruin them too i keep a crappy bit for where i KNOW there's hidden nails

Wow something new from diablo. Love Freud. Can’t beat them best on the market only blade I will ever buy. Thanks for posting might need to get these there fine finish blades are the best on the market for all my saws great for crown molding don’t even need to sand. You should be the Freud diablo spokesperson

I prefer an impact driver when drilling into studs with a spaddle bit. For other things I prefer drilling with the hammer drill. Diablo should make speed demon screw driving bits for impact drivers.

Overall anything branded diablo seems to be better than most and a decent value for the money. It’s nice to be able to just grab something off the shelf and be pretty confident it will work well and last. I just bought a set of diablos jigsaw blades for 20$ and was blown away at how well they worked. They had a jigsaw blade that came with it that had teeth that changed direction halfway on the length (for clean cutting on both sides of a board). It actually worked better than I thought it would. Anyway, thanks for the good reviews 👍🏻

Which spade bit would you think is better the diablo ones or the bosch daredevil spade bit

Great tip on way watching out on using bits used in drill then in impacts.
I just bought the short stubby Milwaukee locking ¼" extension for my drill for quick-connect ability, but this is another reason for using the adapter in the drill. Just won't be using that adapter in the impact.

Keep on

Just bought a 1 1/2 inch for work and it’s awesome. Eats through a 6X4 with ease

I never connected them straight to the drill bit, always with a milwaukee adaptor, because of it breaks the small part can remain stuck inside the impact, (it happened to me).

Great video brother 👊. I think it's a good kit for 10 bucks. They're basically Daredevil bits painted red so Diablo is counting on their name and color to sell them like you said. Either way good bits. Thanks again for everything you guys do. Keep it up 👍

Nice review! Question..can you use this bit to make a hole in wood of a certain depth? Say 1/4“ depth hole?

Drop the bits from 3ft-4ft so the side spurs hit the concrete. If they round over, it's the same Bosch bits. If they don't dent then the heat treatment is better.
Also, the rounding over of the hex shaft may be corrected by a file.
