From September 20 to 23, 2023, Chisinau will host the 6th edition of the International Conference on “Nanotechnologies and Biomedical Engineering.” The event is organized by the Technical University of Moldova and the Biomedical Engineering Society of Moldova, in collaboration with Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, and the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE).
The conference is set to host over 200 specialists from more than 20 countries worldwide, including Japan, the USA, Germany, France, Sweden, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Syria, and more. These experts are actively involved in the healthcare sector and related medical fields. The conference program includes 120 presentations and 16 keynote reports that cover domains necessary for the sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova. These domains include nanotechnologies and nanomaterials, biomaterials for medical applications, innovative medical devices, bioinformatics, and computational biology, molecular, cellular, and tissue engineering, e-health, telemedicine, nuclear and radiation safety, novel diagnostic technologies, treatment and rehabilitation, and modern approaches in personalized medicine, among others. The conference proceedings will be published in the IFMBE Proceedings Series by Springer Nature and indexed in SCOPUS.
Traditionally, this conference hosts globally acclaimed scholars in the field, including esteemed members like Prof. Hidenori Mimura from Japan, Prof. Ashok Vaseashta from the USA, and Prof. Vladimir Fomin from Germany, and others. For the first time, the conference will have the privilege of welcoming Prof. Randy Schekman, Nobel Prize laureate in Medicine, a distinguished scientist with ancestral ties to Moldova. He was honored as a member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova for his fruitful scientific collaboration with our country, delivering impactful public lectures, and participating in televised programs during the pandemic.
The event will commence on September 20, 2023, at 9:30 AM, at the Institute of Labor in Chisinau (10 Zimbrului Street). Academician Ion Tighineanu and Professor Victor Șontea, co-chairs of the Conference, along with Dr. Viorel Bostan, the Rector of UTM, will be moderating the event.
