The uniform load has a mass of 600 kg and is lifted
using a uniform 30-kg strongback beam BAC and four ropes
as shown. Determine the tension in each rope and the force
that must be applied at A.

This channel has genuinely saved me. I changed my major from engineering but still wanted to finish statics! It's not my strength, but with your help, I'm still learning it and doing well. Thank you!

When lifting doesn’t occur, F= W1 + W2. When lifting occurs, 4Ty= F - W2 (when lifting doesn’t occur, T=0 as the ropes aren’t stressed. When lifting does occur, the downward force acting is the weight of the strong back)

Perdon me, may i ask why to get tension t=2.5(w1)/8 not 8(w1)/2.5? How it be like that?

Add both 600×9.8 +30×9.8 =6174=F
Now take 1 T & this F make them vectors sum of x components =0 sum of z or call him x = 0
Tsin53k + Fk =0, T = F/ SIN53 = 7738 =T, divide by 4 tension in 1830 or 1930

Can I ask to why is it must times 4? Because the question said in each rope?
