You know there's something wrong when even Science starts using clickbaits.

I was expecting some superhuman piano skills. Good to know that if the robot apocalypse involves any amount of fine motor control, there's no rush to get into a bunker just yet.

2:35 "...hit all the _right_ notes"
I guess I'm tone-deaf then
Science magazine (The prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science publication) is falling on hard days to resort to such clickbait.

I am learning piano and the difference between a robot and a human is that a robot does not have a soul.. music is the language of the soul ❤️

the hand didn't have motors in it lol it was basically a rag doll being slapped on that piano

I expected some kind of robot that can control all the fingers, both left and right hand, simultaneously. Instead, I got a "robot" that is essentially just a tilting 3D Printed hand. So disappointing.

Please press "Read More" to see my argument against this and why it should neither be classified as a pianist nor a robot.

First of all, to play staccato, the finger/hand must come up as suddenly as it came down. And that is from the wrist dragging your whole hand up. But when we see the robot play staccato (1:25), it doesn't use its wrist to play! It uses its elbow! That is wrong. If you want to learn how to play the piano, mark my words, *NEVER USE YOUR ELBOW!*

Second of all, the "staccato" the "robot" is playing is NOT even staccato! It's tenuto or something like that! All I know is that the robot is playing the "staccato" and holding its hand on the note longer than it should have!

Third of all, tilting your hand to play piano only makes it slower! Using your fingers makes it faster! So why does this "robot" play piano with tilting hands (Or should I say "hand")? These scientists know nothing about piano. So that's why they should download my Five-Day Piano app once it comes out!

Just kidding, they should get a lecture on pianos.

It might be Scarlatti at 1:20? 0:^)
Hoping at the future it will able to play full Toccata of any Scarlatti or even more :) Just imagine: home maestro Rachmaninov plays for you. Like Spotify from your hub, uff...

Hey, people! AI is taking over the world! Throw away your pianos immediately even though they might be expensive as hell!
