I just crossed 1500 miles with my 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation Double Cab and I wanted to share my real fuel economy experience. This GM 2.7 Liter Turbo 4cyl engine in the Sierra and Silverado 2019+ pickup trucks is a hell of a motor. I have been really impressed with my truck's fuel economy and how well it performs. Since I now have put on several miles to get a feel for fuel mileage I can happily say the truck is getting 20+ mpg.

Future upgrades for my 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation:

Best part of the video, was that you was straight to the point unlike some people.

When my lease was up on my 2017 Silverado 5.3L. , went with the 2.7L, was skeptical at first but then thought about it, the 5.3 had a multi displacement engine and was in 4 cyl most of the time on the highway. So let’s give it a shot, very pleased with its performance best mpg so far 30.2 on a trip. Haven’t towed with it yet but it’s nice not to gas up every week. 23k miles so far and no complaints.

Great informative video. I have a 2023 Silverado 2.7 Turbo 4x4 Crew-cab, we recently did a long trip to Seattle Wa Along HW90 driving through Snoqualmie mountain pass. With 3 passengers and roughly 100lbs of cargo (not towing) we managed to get 20.428 miles per gallon (375miles / 18.4 gallon) amazing torque power and performance this engine have. Definitely turbo kick in around 1500 rpm 👍

I have filled up 4 times. One was 17.3 mpg while towing 6k, and the other 3 times have been 23+

I
Just bought a 23 crew cab 4x4 with the 2.7 turbo I am truly very impressed with the engine I’ve owned Chevy trucks since 1994 350 tbi /1998 350 vortec / 2000 Dually 454 vortec / 2002 1500 5.3 / 2005 1500 6.0/ 2007 tundra 5.7/ 13 tundra 5.7 / 19 tundra 5.7 and now went back to Chevy and I truly believe this has to be one of the best engines I’ve ever owned it has Great torque never seems underpowered or struggling and I live in Western Pennsylvania in the Allegheny mountains so we’re always climbing mountains I took my first long distance trip at 78mph for 600 miles my truck registered 29mpg. I really couldn’t believe it but it’s true

I just bought a 22 custom 2.7 last night combined 21.3 this morning and the engines not broken in yet but after driving a 21 tundra for a year I am so damn happy already lol

12, 000 miles on my 2020 4x4 crew cab Custom with 285 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, leveled and lifted. I’m getting 18.5 mpg with 85 octane 100% gas at 4500 feet elevation. My commute is only about 25 miles per day with a little interstate travel. It gets around 16mpg on ethanol gas. Fuel economy goes DOWN at interstate speeds. It does great around town and what I use it for. I’m satisfied with it, but it isn’t a truck to work or tow with.

I just bought a 2021 Silverado custom 2.7l turbo. Felt really ashamed of myself but honestly it was all I could afford at the moment. And since I have a baby on the way I don’t feel like I need a v8 right now. Don’t plan on towing anything or any of that. Just need something to drive to work and home and go out with the family on the weekend. So far really love the truck. Just hate the stereotype that comes with buying a 4 cylinder truck

2.7l turbo and sport mode makes this truck very fun. I am a big V8 guy but this truck is very interesting to drive. And I would say they could have gone bigger but then I look down and see 24mpg average. My Silverado whistles like a roller, drives like a car, and hauls like a v8.

I'm surprised there's no diesel gay boys in the comments bashing your truck

Got one yesterday! Living in Southern California I appreciate the savings on gas

Thanks for the quick review. We were just looking at them today. I’m surprised a turbo will run on regular, that in itself is impressive. Hope it continues to do well for you

I love trucks for their size, safety, utility, and comfort. Since I rarely tow and haul anything heavy the 2.7 is perfect for me. Just waiting for the 2022 to be released. More torque and a updated interior.

I rented a 2019 silverado 4x4 extended cab with the 2.7. I found that it not only performs better when you use e15 gas but also gets much better mpg...worth a try for ya and it's usually 40 cents per gallon cheaper around me

I like my 5.3, but, fuel milage for me is around 15 in the city. 19 hwy. 100-ish extra miles to the tank is nice.

Thanks for the review. Just traded in my Canyon for 2021 Elevation 2.7L turbo. Excited to get it.

Also what they put in winter gas will cut down on mpg too. So you'll get more in warmer temperatures.
