Hey man, I went for scarab lord specifically because of this video. I was transfixed by the quest, and your videos inspired me to go for my dreams. I never thought id actually accomplish it, but in fact, i did! Thank you for all of the videos, you have no idea how much they mean to some of us.

Best,

I remember doing the quest chain in wotlk with guildmates, we haven't finished it but had some fun, and when we were doing eranikus seeing lvl 10 druids doing their class quests and not understanding what was happening was funny to see

It’s so satisfying learning now, literally 10 years later, that randos like the shade in Sunken Temple had a deeper meaning. I didn’t know the lore but just wanted to believe there was a deeper story to this green dragon boss. And there was, just not for the scrub player like me.

Definitely stick with Quest Log. Great name!

Ahhh, the mother of all vanilla WoW questlines.

I sadly never got a chance to partake in that epicness.

I love Eranikus character, and I didn't really like how when using the gem you get on the dungeon he would cry out in pain.

Its nice to see he got relieved of his suffering .

Silithids who dropped the fragments were elites in Vanilla (turned to normal mobs in BC i guess) and damages they dealt were pretty high (most of them doing melee AND ranged damages so even kitting wasn't an option to avoid damages and spare life regen time by bandaging and/or eating between fiights...) so getting 200 fragments fast needed a solid group....

Finally a modern video describing my favorite legendary quest line

I tapped out at the same point you did ... you know, work, kids, life.... all that. This video brings back a lot of great memories of back in the day with friends. Thanks for all your hard work on this one!

My life long WoW mystery has finally been solved.
When I first started playing in Vanilla I have faint memories of some how getting to Moonglade and there was a huge raid going on there. Until now I wondered where was I? Was it Moonglade? had no
thank you for confirming I wasn't tripping LOL

We as a guild recently completed this questline on a private server and holy hell is it epic! Especially the Moonglade fight it's enormous and easily requires at least one raid to complete if not more. And this is over a decade after the release, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been back then. The uniqueness of it all just adds to the experience. You get the whole guild out to help one member complete the quest, just like with Thunderfury, only with this questline you have to do it a couple of times. The pure joy of the person when he finally bangs the gong is just epic to me, even though I probably will never get to do it myself.

More of this Blizzard!

i really appreciate that you've put all this effort into cataloging old WoW history. i didn't get into the game until pre-cata, and even then could only play casually (actually casually, not this "only spends 100 hours/week farming and raiding definition of 'casual'"), so it was really frustrating being locked out of so much lore because it was such a ridiculous time investment, or because i didn't play the game when only certain parts of the lore were available.

One of the coolest rewards during this chain was the ring that allowed underwater breathing. Extremely useful back then! Especially for non-undead characters

As always, great video! As someone who hadn't played WoW during vanilla (no $$ for it) and only on a few tbc/wotlk private servers later on (still no $$) this is incredibly interesting!

Only joined retail when WoD started so there is still so much cool stuff to discover about WoW.

Keep up the brilliant work!

500 is rep per quest turn in
200 is the amount of fragments needed
1-2 fragments per mob
42 000 Rep needed to neutral

It's about 16 800 bugs killed to complete the quest. 500/200 = 2, 5. 42 000/2, 5 = 16 800. This calculation is based on you getting 1 Fragment per mob(aka the lowest amount) but this is just to show the absolute minimum kills required.
Don't know the kill time of the mobs but let's say it's 30 seconds (I might be comepletely off here but if its double time here it will be double time /played later).
30*16 800 = 504 000 Seconds.
504 00 Seconds is roughly 5.8 days.
You have to turn in the quest 84 times to unlock the next part(If u start from 0 rep at hated).

Now I havent factored in the time to eat, drink, get ganked or even travel between the locations to turn it in. But let's just say we could easily double the kill time with this in mind(or even tripple) 10Days + /played for this alone is insane(this being doing this as a solo class). Of course if you have guildies helping you kill the mobs and grind for you this drastically reduces the time, because everyone with the item gets a fragment. Still tho 16 800 mobs is still a FUCK ton of killing, and that's going to take a long time.

Just as another example. If you were 10 players farming for the items and trading them to you it would take 1/10 of the time. So having people to do it with/for you is key here to not go insane x)

I should go to bed

Honestly I love your videos, I could spend the whole day just listening to your voice. Calm and soothing, it's almost like a trance. Good job!

The good thing about finding your channel this late is the amount of content you already have. I gotta say never change your intro, I watch your videos before and after the storm ( my job) which is always calming and interesting keep them up we sure love them.
