Great video Zak. Our dog Winnie was able to pick up "leave it" very quickly. I can put one of her food treats right in front of her, tell her "leave it" walk 50ft away and she won't go for it until I give her the signal with "ok". Only took two 15 minute sessions with your guidance.

It seems she learnt not to grab food when a person is there, good stuff. She won't stop the grabbing if no one is watching but then it's easy enough not to leave food out when not around. The layout of my place is different in that I have a short hallway to the kitchen and my dog knows not to enter the kitchen. He sits at the doorway watching me though, lol. I can see that might be difficult in an open-plan dwelling.

thank you.... my dog is very big, and he growls when we try to stop him from stealing food. it’s very scary, so we’ve had to put up wooden gates that latch shut so that he doesn’t go into the kitchen/ dining room.

Thank you for this video, Zak! My 4 month old puppy just went table surfing while I was in the shower, and stole and DESTROYED my smart phone and my eyeglasses. Cost me over $1500 to replace them. Wish I would have watched this one sooner. :^/
