OSV Fiat 500L 2018 In-Depth Review

If you loved the Fiat 500’s retro cool looks, the Fiat 500L Hatchback is essentially the same car – but bigger. Think of it as the practical version of the popular city car. This means it’s got the cute-as-button looks and low running costs, but with added space and versatility.

In some ways, Fiat can’t lose with this car. It’s derived from a smash-hit city car, while the Mini MPV sector is booming. This is a good addition. We like the clever seating arrangement and sizeable boot, as well as its ability to bob in and out of traffic. It’s so easy to park, too.

OSV takes a closer look at what it’s all about with our 2018 Fiat 500L Hatchback review.

Had a 500l diesel since new on a 13plate. 103k miles later still going strong. Only a few minor probs. The sliding fabric sunroof has jumped its housing recently which may be expensive unless anyone can advise.
Main quibble has been with the dealer both as sales and servicing. I won't name them but they have branches in East Anglian. For example, they told me the brakes needed replacing on a routine service and it would cost £450 to £500. I declined and 30, 000 miles later and TWO mots they were still ok. I was also overcharged on another occasion, eventually proving that their time sheets were wrong as I had filmed them at the garage getting in the car to drive it into workshop and returning it to the parking bay. Even 30mins at their £ rate is not acceptable especially as I was told on the central booking phone line that cost is calculated to the minute but the branch I took it to told me the cost is rounded up to the nearest 50min hour.
Ps

In this video, I did not see the rear seats shown "rolled" or folded twice to open up the rear space to it's maximum. That is where the rear seats fold up against the backs of the front seats.

oops I just noticed it at 4:41 but the photo only shows the wagon model with the seats folded up against the front seats. I think one of its best attributes of the regular 500L, besides great visibility is those folding second row seats.

For a second i was shocked to see this guy driving on the wrong side of the road... but quickly breathed a sigh of relief when i realized that everyone else drives on the wrong side of the road as well --two wrongs do make a right. laff.
