A modern day poncho flip just like the Man With No Name

Interestingly enough, we had a tech school instructor tell us almost this exact thing 18 years ago. He had been stationed at Howard AB in Panama and this was something that the Jungle Warfare school put out!

I live in the Caribbean, all year round tropical weather, avg temp 85 and alot of rain. The poncho is the best solution for this region.

Its poncho over everything for me. Keeps everything nice and dry, just gotta be mindful of internal moisture fogging stuff up.
If I've got time to dig into my ruck I got time to move a poncho. If rounds are flying than staying dry isn't even on my mind.
Also the poncho flipped to the side and back looks LotT Dunedain Ranger stoic AF. 😁

A poncho is the only rain gear I need.

Very cool idea. With my belt kit I usually just went rifle outside poncho and the lower mag pouches are pretty easy to access under the bottom. However anyone other setup I think this is the way to go especially to conceal your weapon and gear similar to the early troops in Afghanistan

Nice vid. All hail the military poncho!
Even hunting in an M81 USGI poncho, I run it over top of everything like this.
Sadly, these ponchos are getting harder to find in surplus stores around me and the knock-offs just aren't as good. Tragic.

You handle that poncho like Zorro handles his cape.

Thank you for making a Youtube video while on a crucial mission.

I've been considering the poncho for awhile now. You're just a dude who doesn't wanna be soaked. Not overly suspicious

I’ve tried this. Works well unless there’s a heavy wind. Thanks!

Cool video. Spiritual prep to my fellow veterans, Acts 2:38, 🙏 because we will be there longer than we will be here😊

Deluth Trading DOTF pants have worked well for me in the general day to day wet PNW, and in the wet and mossy Gifford Pinchot. Dry on the move. When it gets below 45, I break out the Beyond Clothing L5 softshell pants.

I've had the same thoughts on ponchos. I'm starting to think less is more, tech and the rest of the stuff, rather go old school. Leave some of the tech behind if the big guys are trying to find you they're going to do it, they have all the goodies tech stuff. lol
