How did Alastor defeat the other Overlords?

Did you know this in Hazbin Hotel?

During episode 5 mimzy explains alastors backstory, where we get a flashback showing how he rose to fame. Once he showed up he began killing off overlords, and broadcasting their voices over the radio for everyone to hear. We don’t know the names of any of these overlords but they all have really cool designs.

My question is how did alastor kill these overlords? As you might know once sinners are killed they simply respawn, except when they’re killed by angelic weapons. Alastor doesn’t appear to use these weapons.

My only guess is that he trapped these overlords in some sort of limbo or another realm. They could either sign a deal with him like husk and nifty, or end up trapped in this realm forever, only able to scream which is probably a worse fate than death.

Alastor’s sadistic backstory is really interesting and i hope we get to learn the lore of these past overlords in the future.

I find it so cool that they had to design these super cool and original overlord just to appear for a few seconds, it really makes you wonder how they died and what their whole deal was

al does threaten husk saying that he'll rip his soul apart and brodcast his screams so maybe due to tearing apart a sinner's soul and sealing it away the sinner wont be able to come back due to their soul being unable to reform

It's like a reverse of 'I have no mouth and I must scream'. There's nothing but the screaming left for them.

Mimzy never specifically said that the overlords were dead. Just that they went missing so, yes, Alastor probably still has their souls somewhere.

When threatening Husker alastor says “I will tear your soul the shreds” assumedly this means that alastor is some how able to destroy the soul of a sinner stopping the rebirth cycle

I love how part of this scene was a redo of when Vaggie is explaining to Angel about Alastor. It’s so cool to see how far hazbin has come

Either 1) He used his voodoo magic to trap them in radio where only their screams can be heard or 2) the screams are from Alastor eating them alive given that many cultures around the world believe that devouring ones prey grants them the power of the prey (to give an example: eating bear meat would grant you the bear’s strength, rabbit meat their speed/agility, bird meat keener sight, etc…)

I have a theory that after alastor steals the overlords souls' their bodies are turned into the minions alastor summons in episode 2. They look like they have been stitched back together which makes alastor even more twisted, using the corpses of his victims as puppets

I really liked how the back story fit with a lot of the more famous serial killers M.O. a specific type of people go missing and then there's some kind of messed up announcement sent to the public. It fits with his backstory as being one himself.

What if it’s like the wonka TV from Willy wonka, it breaks apart matter and then transports it to the tv. Alastor tears peoples souls apart then broadcast the tiny pieces of it on the radio, creating the screaming noise of the broken soul. Being trapped behind a radio broadcast for all to hear and never die is another kind of hell, maybe that’s why husk was so scared aswell.

A cool detail I just noticed is that Hazbin hotel and helluva boss may be taking place at the same time or at least in close intervals because in episode 7 of HB, blitz is reading a newspaper with an exterminator on it
This could be in reference to them making another attack within 6 months
You could say that it was just a previous attack and that may be it but I love the idea of these two shows having big things happening in the same period of time

My theory is that he made them in constant torment that way they could not regenerate. Tl;Dr, he keeps killing them over and over, that way they can't be free.

the scene in episode 5 (i believe) where alastor drags husk by his “binding chain” (idk what it’s called) and says “i could tear your soul apart and broadcast your screams for everyone to hear” (not exact quote) probably implies that he has some sort of mysterious power or maybe even a weapon that he uses. though, since al is a bit of an old timey guy, i doubt the weapon theory. i like your theory, of them being trapped in some sort of limbo or other world. and since good ol’ al is a really powerful overlord, maybe he had some of the other kill them, just for funsies. deer man is quite sadistic, after all.

I had a theory when the pilot came out. He had his powers from the start and he is a deal maker. What if he started making those deals when he was still alive and in that way he got his might. If some of those people went to heaven he might have made them send him the weapons

For Alastor to rise to power so quickly I think his deal with Lillith happened much earlier then we thought, it would explain how he has the power to either kill or overpower other overlords.

It's amazing how Alastor just showed up out of the blue and rose to great power within a short time. Wonder how powerful he would be against an Exorcist
