Do you feel like this degree is worth it? What would the pay be like?

In my honest opinion (CTA is my latest experience), this is just a name that sounds fancier than Clinical Trials Assistant. At large CROs it makes sense to evolve from a Clinical Trials Assistant 1-2 to Clin Trials Associate 1-2 to Sr CTA to in-house CRA and eventually to Specialist or Analyst. Judging from experience, burnout and self-importance is the driver to be just happy to put on one's LinkedIn they are a Specialist that an Assistant, and in most cases it is fair to re-name, when necessary.
