Visiting Riga? A fine city on the Baltic Sea, Riga provides tourists with a wonderful mix of things to do and sights to see. Historic architecture, religious marvels, and some amazing outdoor spaces are all part of a visit to Riga.

In terms of buildings of interest you'll find an almost endless supply in Riga. Notable churches and cathedrals in the city are the Riga Cathedral and St Peter's Cathedral, both of which stand in close proximity to each-other. The Nativity Of Christ, while a later addition to the cityscape of Riga, is also an interesting place to visit given its interesting history.

A number of very different architectural highlights of the city come in the shape of the National Library of Latvia. A hugely impressive building to look at from its exterior, the interior has millions of books and exhibits that are important to the country. The Riga TV Tower is one of the tallest of its kind in the world and soars into the skies above the city, while the Three Brothers, which is one of the best Riga tourist attractions, showcasing different styles of architecture through the ages. All of these constitute Riga's most popular tourist attractions and provide a perfect photo opportunities.

The human history of Riga is sort out at both Freedom Monument, which tells the tale of Latvian Independence, and the popular Open Air Ethnographic Museum, with its many houses, chapels and workshops giving a glimpse into how life was for the common man of Latvia over the centuries.

There's also the vast and historic Central Market of Riga, with the huge hangars that the market is housed in once being used to store zeppelin balloons.

All things considered Riga is a place you really do need to spend some time in to appreciate.
