Which AMEX Delta Skymiles Card Is Better, Platinum or Reserve?

If you travel a lot and are looking to get more value from the money that spend doing so, both of the cards in this video are worth considering.
Whilst they are not exactly cheap on an annual basis to maintain, they actually offer quite a lot of benefits each year that can easily cover the annual fee and then some.

In this video, I’m going to review and compare both the American Express Delta Skymiles Platinum and Reserve cards.
I’ll go over what they cost on an annual basis, what you can expect to receive each year in terms of benefits and user perks, and then I’ll decide which card is the best and If it's worth it.

Thanks for this video! I fly 10 times a year for my business and have been loving the Platinum card so far. It helped me reach Silver status in 3 months and I'm just a tick away from Gold now. My baggage fees alone are at least $1, 200 a year flying with at least 1 employee. Only $250 annual fee and with medallion status all baggage is free. It's amazing, the card literally pays for itself! I'm not sure if the lounge perks on the reserve card would be worth it for me though as I usually fly on a pretty tight schedule.

Great video. To me, the AMEX Delta Platinum wins over the AMEX Delta Reserve. Multipliers on the Reserve aren’t worth it compared to the Platinum.

Hey Daniel, looks like you are a fellow P24 member! I was looking into getting either the Delta Platinum Business Card or the Reserve Business Card and stumbled across your channel and website (great job with both btw, keep it up!)

Which card do you think makes sense for me? I can spend over $50k+/yr on a credit card with my business. Trying to get to Gold Medallion status this year. I already have a personal Delta Platinum card that I use for about half of my personal expenses (which isn't nearly as much as the business). So I'll essentially have 2 Delta AMEX cards with yearly fees which I'm totally okay with.

I'm kind of stuck between the 2. What do you think?

I have the Delta Platinum and when I compared the benefits it wasn't worth it to me to switch the reserve card. The only upside was the additional AMEX/ Delta lounges. But I have a priority pass with the Chase Sapphire Reserve that fills in nicely for me.

Does the reserve still have priority pass? I seem to remember seeing that as a benefit in the past, but maybe they got rid of it?

I just upgraded to the reserve but I am not sure why other than the statement credit and bonus miles. I was surprised I earn fewer miles like at the grocery store, etc. For some reason this bugs me.

I have the reserve card, and fly every other week. So far, the benefits aren’t great overall. The only real perk is the sky lounge, which aren’t really that great anymore.

I have the Platinum for lounge access, and Delta Platinum to earn skymiles. I just use those two cards and use Delta Plat as daily spend card.
