Massive Ticketmaster Data Breach: 560 Million Customers Affected

The personal details of around 560 million Ticketmaster customers may have been compromised and stolen in a data breach.

The hacking group responsible for this massive breach goes by the name of ShinyHunters, a well known actor in the cybercrime landscape that has previously claimed responsibility for other large scale data breaches.

As the news first started emerging, it was alleged by ShinyHunters that they had accessed over 1.3 terabytes of customer data possessed by Ticketmaster, compromising sensitive details like names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, payment card information and purchase histories.

ShinyHunters then put the entire hacked dataset up for sale on the dark web. Reports state they are asking for $500,000 in bitcoin as a one time price to purchase the stolen Ticketmaster customer records of 560 million users.
