I took one of my past clips of the Uber Ultra and recorded a new clip of my Uberschall Rev Green to compare to it. Both clips use the same guitar and Zilla IR (V30 / G12H 75).

I find channel 1 on the Ultra to be closer to the old school vibe of the OG Uber, especially with the U settings and depth up.

Wow! I did not expect them to be that much different. The Rev Green has a nice sag and rawness to it. Sounds like it would cut a lot better in a mix too. The Ultra is really smooth and compressed. A bit too tight for me. Thanks for doing this!

You have the Rev Green's Presence, Treble, and Mid knobs all the way up to right at 3 o'clock, but then you dial the Uber Ultra's Presence knob (one of the most influential controls on that amp) down to almost noon. I have an Uber Ultra and the Presence control doesn't really come alive until about 2 o'clock at minimum. OF COURSE it's going to sound way darker than the Rev Green here. Dial the Uber Ultra's Presence to between 3 o'clock and 4 o'clock and it will brighten right up to parity with the old Uber. This is not really a useful comparison video currently.

Cool shootout! Anyway you can do it with the depth and density all the way up? Supposedly that mirrors old Ubers. I just don’t know with those settings if it’s on Uber channel one or two.

Green for sure. I have two blues and just got the ultra. The ultra has a great clean, but I’ll take my rev blues any day. Ultra sounds like a fireball to me and I always hated that amp.

UU was less noisy and more punchy. The Uberschall had a constant fizziness in the background

I can hear that for me Green sounds like Herbert/vh4. I mean fat and with that thumb of diezels. and Ultra has more tight and juicy sound. and yes if get presence more on it, it will be a lot better
