Rudolf Maister, Slovene statesman, general, poet, writer, painter, collector (and many others), through his intervention in the years 1918 to 1920 achieved that the Slovenes defended Maribor with its surroundings and a part of Carinthia. Through his intervention he not only took care of the territorial integrity of our country, he also made us aware of our military and state capabilities and had a key impact on our future sovereignty. It is an important guide for our national consciousness and statehood, it is an idol of rebellion against the tyranny that foreigners have inflicted on us or want to inflict on us. In the spirit of Maister, the Slovenian Army and our self-image in general developed and strengthened. Maister is an important guide for our national consciousness!
