I remember her death, hearing it on the radio right before they played Dreaming Of You. You know she's would've still been relevant to this day. I always put Selena and Aaliyah in the same category because they'd still be making music in 2020.

Selena was an icon and forever will be as an African American person I always wanted to learn Spanish because I live in a mostly Hispanic community and I want to learn how to communicate with them so her songs actually helped me learn some Spanish ❤️ rest in paradise Selena 🥺🥺 you are missed

We watched the movie in my Spanish class in 8th grade. We drew pictures for her and learned some of her songs in Spanish. She still has a very special place in my heart ❤️

I love that many years after her death she's still talked about in the English speaking US. Even after her death her cross over still happened and even though it was brief it has been unforgettable.
As a Chicana, growing up I was too American for the Mexicans and too Mexican for the Americans. She was the first Chicana role model that made me proud that I was a cultural hybrid.
