56 containers used as workers’ quarters destroyed in Wangsa Maju blaze

A total of 56 containers, converted into foreign workers’ quarters in Wangsa Maju, were destroyed in a fire.

Wangsa Maju fire station chief M. Letchumanan said Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations room received the distress call at 9.08am on Wednesday (July 24).

Firstly, housing workers in converted shipping containers is already illegal. The company will have to answer for this.
