In this video I talk about and show where and how to install 4”x5” “L” metal or head wall metal as well as the counter metal over the top. I am using a combination of clear silicone sealant with self sealing screws.

I have a main floor room bump out like that, where the roof area like what you were perched on is maybe 2 ft deep from gutter to wall (it's on a gable end, so there's no guttered roof above like in your example.)

We have a room leak we think is coming from the 2nd floor window directly above the bump out, but haven't been able to confirm. Might be coming in from a rotted window sill. Anyway, the flashing setup on mine looks just like what you did there, except it's shingled and they silicone gooped the outside edge where the horizontal flashing goes over the shingle. I was told by someone (not a roofer) that's wrong, and that shingles must always go over flashing.

Both layers should have been rolled up the wall sealed with mastic at the top. Then metal wall flashing added over down to 1" from break point. Impact drill the wall for mushroom head pins to secure the wall metal.

I've been enjoying your videos as I gear up for a roofing job myself. Question, will this 2 play system adhere to concrete, specifically a cinder block parapet wall? I've seen some people using a hot gun to help with the seams. I'm thinking this would make it possible for the base and cap to stick to a concrete surface?

What sealant did you use for the vertical portion of the flashing? Looks like butyl? Thanks for the video.
