I was offered $570k total compensation by Coinbase back in March. I turned it down, as my analysis showed we're going to $14k. I stayed at a start up that always has 24 months cash on hand and does not over hire. I'm sure I would have been gone as part of this. West coast tech companies don't retain enough cash on hand for this type of thing, I hear it all the time. They try to grow too fast and THIS is what happens. 10 years or not, this was inevitable. They call them corrections for a reason. Printing too much money always leads to THIS.
