As a teacher of two decades, I can truly say that mom is not being truthful. Our school had a student that would go to the strip club with her mom when the babysitter couldn’t come. At 5, she would swing on the pole outside like a pro. I often wondered what happened to her.

I remember this. This happened a few years ago, and this was in an area that was hard hit by a snowstorm; because of the prediction, people were buying up all the winter stuff, and I think she was putting the last one shovel somewhere, and yes--people will do this, especially if you're going to be out for awhile.
