I took mine out of the water and unplugged it and the bottom part of it felt super hot to touch, even for just my hand. Any reason if this is an indication that is not safe for my fish? I'm just testing it out before putting it in the tank. I don't know if it actually got that hot after I took it out of the water or while it was in there.

Does it turn off randomly mine is cold and it set to 80 and the light keep turning off every minute

i bet your betta would have appreciated a bigger "tank" to live in versus taking up like 1/16th of his space with a heater that he probably doesnt even need.
