After several months my 2022 white Subaru WRX Premium manual has just come in. The Topher solidified my decision. I’m 65 years old and have owned numerous cars through the years and this car is the most fun I’ve ever had. This is the first time I’m commented on YouTube. My hats off to The Topher.

Watched this video 23 times, bought a 2023 WRX limited, and I’m having so much fun, all WRX drivers are waving and giving thumb ups to each other, what a nice community! And thank you!

A lot of people want to know - WRX or Elantra N? It's a tough one! Ultimately it boils down to how you're going to use the car and what you can find at MSRP, but here are my thoughts:

-WRX For AWD & Winter fun. Fantastic Manual. Perfect for rallycross, ice racing, does ok on track with modifications (brakes, cooling). If you want a CVT WRX, I'd get an Outback Wilderness instead, just as fast but with more usability/off-road capability. Could use an exhaust, better brakes. Wouldn't mess with power too much, factory tune is fantastic (and more reliable). More fun in the winter.

-Elantra N if you're doing track days and want serious all-round performance right out of the factory. Manual is fantastic with some shifter bushings, DCT is also really good, but has a recall right now. Elantra N feels better built and higher quality than WRX, tech is great too. All the exhaust, suspension tuning, brake cooling, etc. adjustability you'd want without having to go to the aftermarket. Less fun in the winter, more fun the rest of the time.

Both look weird.

Both have handbrakes.
Both you'll love to drive.

The timing of this could not be any more perfect. I’m cross shopping this and a 6 speed Civic Hatch. And Topher uploads a review 4 minutes ago. Wow.

Oh look! Finally I see someone drive it how it is made to be driven and gives a proper review.
Good job.

To be able to jump into any car at any given time like he does, and drive like a pro, is crazy. That is true skill

I'm picking up my '23 Premium tomorrow and like others have said here, this review was one of the ones that sort of solidified my interest in the car. I've been loosely interested in the WRX for many years, but never could justify it, especially being a dad with a kid in a full car seat, but now that my kiddo is in a backless booster, I don't need as much backseat room, and it's time for dad to have a fun daily.

Great content, as always, and it's such a joy to watch you drive.

Best review ! I’m 63 so I’ve owned a lot of cars. 4 months ago I bought my third WRX on the bounce. Identical to this except in classic Subi Blue. After 10, 000ks I can report back… hands down, best car I’ve ever owned !

If the radio freezes up, you push in the volume button for 30 seconds and it does a reset without having to turn the car off.

Just picked mine up a couple weeks ago and this WRX is a very good improvement from the last, loads of fun and MPGs aren’t as bad as the epa rated it. I’m averaging 26 dailying it and couldn’t be happier with it.

Beautiful review! Owned a 2002 WRX and drove it for 10 years/145, 000 miles in Michigan. One of my favorites! ❤️

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think it looks that bad

I love Subaru. Always have one in my garage. I don't ever remember Subaru not being funky or strange compared to the competitors.

This impressions video was literally everything I wanted to know and I really appreciate the nod to parents at the end. I have a toddler and wondered about the car seat-ability and now I can say I love it more.

When I buy mine I want you to know you’re the reason!!

I bought the limited in white and I absolutely fell in love. Drives amazingly and I actually love the white contrast to the plastic on the bottom!

Just put a deposit down two days ago for a WRX premium, and bam! Topher puts out a video. I've been on the fence about it for awhile, but as a previous VA owner these engine refinements are the main thing that reassures me of my upcoming purchase.
Good job Topher, love your videos.

This was the picture perfect of the subbie driving experience. From the great driving dynamics to the laggy info screen.
