Why Did St. Thomas Aquinas Not Finish Writing the Summa Theologica?

It's one of the most perplexing and even frustrating aspects of the life of St. Thomas Aquinas- namely why he would dedicate nearly ten years of his life to his greatest work, The Summa Theologica, only to decide near the very end to stop writing. It's really hard to understand. As you'll hear in this video, that doesn't mean The Summa wasn't finished. It was but just not by St. Thomas in the prime of his intellectual life. In this video I'll show you the back story of why St. Thomas Aquinas quite writing the Summa and I'll also speculate on why I believe God allowed it to happen as it did.

I am new to my faith. I believe I have heard from Peter Kreeft: theology is to talk about God. Religion- is to talk to God. I know it is more important to talk to Him. I think, read, listen or talk about Him every day. I am shy and horrified to talk to Him…to pray. But it will come to me.

My guess is that he got bored and found another hobby. It was all fun in the first few hundred pages, but after it got as thick as a telephone book he probably thought "i wouldnt even want to read this"... so he stopped.

Your ... Assumption ... that St Thomas Aquinas had a personal relationship with ... Jesus Christ ... is not a fact. It is nothing more than your speculative opinion. In my experience, outside of an academic environment, the Metaphysics of the Summa Theologica is nothing more than a Game of Linguistic Gymnastics. It is totally irrelevant to one's experience of daily life.
