If you're a Dallas Cowboys fan and you despise the Eagles, would you be guilty of a "hate crime" for burning an Eagles flag?
Would anyone be guilty of a "hate crime" if they burned the American flag?
If you buy your own pride flag and burn it, is that a "hate crime"?

Or is it just vandalism? Is this the beginning of oppressive laws that decide motive and intent before the facts are known?
