The Vans Old Skools have been around since 1977 and was the first Vans shoe to be made with leather side panels for durability. Fast forward to today and the revamped 'Skate' Old Skool is decked out with features designed for skateboarding. We got our skate product content guru Josue Medina to shred them and let us know what he thought.

Putting canvas where you drag your ollie is a terrible design choice. Mine blew out immediately

Coming from skating Nike Sb blazers, I really wanted to try to skate a Vans shoe. I have never skated Vans and I saw that the old skool had a strikingly similar silhouette to the blazers. The shoe broke in very quickly (within 30 minutes) and I felt like they had more padding than the blazer and more board feel. I do feel that blazers will protect you from ankle rolls more, but I just might stick with old skools as my go to skate and casual shoe.

Those shoes look like they were skated longer than 30 hours i guess it just because the durability isn't great I'd like to try a pair of these but spending 80$ for it to have a chance to give me an ollie hole isn't worth it i don't understand why they can't put suede in that spot for old schools
