P-Trap® is a passive non-lethal self protection method against piracy. The trap is a boom that is extended from the bow of a vessel on both sides. P-Trap® lines are installed on the boom. The lines are guided from the boom to the water surface with a conductor (hanging spreader bar). The lines float on water and disable the pirates engine by trapping the propeller. The system is designed to be non-lethal using a breakaway connection. When a propeller is trapped, the line will break and the pirate vessel will be left floating inoperable.
