When you threw that cardboard and it stuck in the toolbox. I was thinking, "That was amazing!" and then it seemed like you were not going to say anything about it. ha ha!

If you're doing a video that's going to be on the interwebs, it might be, in future, a good idea to leave the battery negative off until you're finished fiddling with the battery positive and only then reconnect it. It prevents sparkage when using metal tools in close proximity to a metal chassis.

You can still add a rely to that unit as well. It just means you'll also have a manual override for on and off too.

I don't understand why you put the switch under the seat...doesn't that make it rather inconvenient having to remove the seat every time you want to hook up your phone?

you got me laughing in the first 30 seconds. that deserves a like.

You dont even need the relay. Go to the fuse box of the bike, and find a wire, that is live when the ignition is on and not when its off. I use the headlight line for example. Make sure you take the feed out before the fuse, or your putting more load on the (headlight) fuse, but make sure there is a fuse inline with whatever your installing.

Handy, I defo want a USB up on my bars/dash on whatever my next bike is, charge the satnav, or even cameras etc in a tankbag with a long enough cable for travel of course. Hadn't considered the emergency side of it though

The video description is great! This kind of cigarette lighter USB integrated machine is necessary. I bought this elecdeer brand not long ago. After using it for a period of time, it feels very convenient and very good. Everyone can spare one.

Only trouble is every time you want to use it you have to take the seat off.

If you got an emergency charger battery you could leave your phone in  your pocket and charge it, then put the charger on charge on the bike that way you always have power for your phone.

You could also get one of those cheap wireless charger circuits so you don't even have to plug it into the phone, connect it to the emergency charger battery pack and just place it in your pocket with your phone.

You do need one of those wireless charging phones though.

Or you could go one better and set up a small plastic box at the back of the bike to hold your emergency charger battery and wireless charge through the tail section, or if you don't want to wireless charge just run a cable to the small plastic box and charge directly, but there may be corrosion over time so it would need to be well protected from rain.

Considering how light and cheap these emergency chargers are you could mount it directly using stick on Velcro to your side panel and use the gap on the panel as a plug in point, that way you wouldn't need to remove the seat every time you wanted to plug in.

You'll forget at some point, I wired my heated grips in direct. Two years with out leaving them on I went and left them on and killed my battery. Its like riding a bike, its not if you fall off, its when you fall off.

I like watching things like that because you can learn how to do it without destroying or blowing up your battery I have a Honda and I'm going to do the same thing on the first of the month get a USB charger that hooks to your battery and hook it up to The handlebar mine's going on The handlebar

At 4:24 you say “take the negative, there’s like a battery cover here” and then proceed to connect the negative somewhere without explaining where. Where do you connect the negative from the charger?

I would strip down a lot of the small electronics you order from the internet even if they say its genuine and with the correct fuse, wire braid/gauge. Ive had one of those 12V chargers catch fire as it was not correctly insulated i had to rip it off and throw it before it spread. just strip it and check for piece of mind, internet is full of "how" things should be wired if you do not understand how things work.

Does the same thing go for an electric scooter as for a gas when installing USB charging/12v system?

Had one fitted to my Triumph Tiger 955...Hope the wiring doesn't melt like mine did under load from a small tyre inflators/compressor!!! Beware especially as it's under your seat...
