Another amazing episode, Avery! The first story, where the lady swears she sees a man walking down the hallway at night, reminds me of a story my grandmother told me a few times. She's from Thailand and in our culture, there is heavy belief on ghosts/spirits. One night, after marrying an American soldier and beginning a new life, she and my grandfather were in a motel while traveling to their new home together in Nevada. She said that she's always been a light sleeper, so when my grandfather got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, she woke up as he left the bed. She heard him shut the bathroom door as she rolled over and began to go back to sleep. A few seconds later, she said that she felt him come back to bed and wrap his arm around her, though a little more tighter than usual...almost uncomfortably so. She said she complained once or twice and tried to sleep, but his grip was too firm and she was starting to get sleepily annoyed with him. She told him to "cut it out". After another moment or so, she heard the bathroom flush and it's door open. The "man" cuddling her vanished. His weight just left her, but she didn't hear the bed move or feel any shifting of weight on the bed. He was just gone. She said that she just jumped up and looked at my grandfather sleepily walking back in the room. He asked who she had been talking to and she just started freaking out. Much like the gentleman in the first story, my grandfather searched all over the hotel room, but the door was still locked and there was no sign anyone had been there at all. She still gets goosebumps when she tells the story to this day.

Anyways, I always love these supernatural episodes and this was another exciting one! We all appreciate all of your hard work, living in the editing room and working so hard to bring us your amazing stories. I'm sure that doing the visual podcasts really increased your workload, but they're definitely appreciated! Keep up the amazing work!

Glad I found this channel. Better than Nuke's top five, Slapham or Chills. Thank you Avery

The last story makes me think there may have been some other kind of contamination on those properties. Cancer is often caused by long term exposure to chemicals. Hallucinations might be caused by contaminates. Digging into the soils that are contaminated might have resulted in an acute exposure that resulted in an immediate death. Rachel Carson's Silent Spring comes to mind.
And its not like people in this country respected African American communities. They may have dumped many contaminates on that land. It still happens even.

Very good video!! Thank you for these stories.

The last story regarding Sam and Judith Haney's home in Houston was also featured in an Unsolved Mysteries episode called "The Black Hope Curse". Definitely worth checking out.

And I agree, it is one of the most tragic haunting stories.

One bizarre thing that stands out in each story is the level of intelligence. Ugh 😢 we can’t underestimate them.

Damn...that last one.... It totally wrenched my heart. Poor people.. That's horrible, the lives lost. Wtf was wrong with that goddamn place. Truly truly horrible.

And I can see how Spielberg took this story and ran with it!

Some researchers are hypothesizing that ghosts, criptids, aliens and UFO's are all part of the same phenomenon. The fact that the women got sick and one died reminds me of the many times people have suffered something similar at the Skinwalker Ranch. Why would anyone DIE from digging a hole, fir pete's sake! The "phenomenon" seems to "defend" itself at times by emoting some sort lf radiation that causes brain swelling, cardiovascular problems, fainting, etc.

I'm really enjoying your show Avery. These haunted house episodes resonate with me, as I have have experienced several possible paranormal events throughout my years growing up in a house in close proximity to several caves that had Indian drawings on the cave walls. my dad's house was also a hub for activity. Honestly, I've had too many to mention here. Thankfully, my house in Houston is a warm and peaceful place. Cheers!

I actually didn't know that Poltergeist was inspired by a real town. This was really really good! you're an amazing speaker.

I put this in my Avery file. The 3rd story is nuts, but I thought there were more than a dozen homeowners that walked, with no resells? Maybe I'm thinking of another subdivision. But you know the real ghosts?? HOAs. I'm not sure which I prefer

The last story gave me chills! It reminded me of my childhood home. I’m going to collaborate with my mom and email you our story soon.

Do you think the dresser fell on the little boy and that’s why it had the energy? Maybe that family was the only ones haunted & tragedy by the ghost because they messed with the grave? You’re a phenomenal story teller and you’d an excellent Dateline host
