Randy demonstrating a dozer man basket. It’s incredible how critical people are of these when they’re statistically far safer than someone climbing up frozen tracks in the middle of winter.

As an old beat up equipment operator this is an amazing idea. When I was young and dumb and full of fun I used to climb, jump and everything in between on every type of heavy equipment you can think of and now today I wake up realizing how freaking stupid I was!!!! This lift is a fantastic idea!!!! Gonna save some operator a shitload of injuries later in life. Trust me I am living in pain everyday! Thank you for sharing this kind sir!

It's all nifty in theory. We had steps similar to these on our 11s, they just don't last long cleaning high walls and such like we do every day. If you only have one operator and hold them accountable they last a bit longer. Tomorrow morning I'll be climbing back up on the tracks.

I tried those baskets. They sucked in a mining environment. Pushing boulders it didn't take long for it to get damaged. Someone in management thought it was a good idea. After awhile all the lifts simply disappeared from all the dozers.

Movie "Farenheight 451" has a firemans pole that goes up. Round disk on the pole that you step onto, and it takes you to the upper floor. Simple.
