These places were never meant for permanent residence. Most of them have energy score G. That's OK during summer, but not all year round.
I checked a few real estate sites and found interesting renovated appartments in Omegna for less than 200K, but then found out that they are in a flood zone. The city of Omegna has been inundated in 2014. Buyer beware !
For a fully renovated place overlooking the lake you still need 600K+, and that's quite expensive for a second home.
