3500 barrels is about 1/5 of an olympic swimming pool. Not good but not a huge spill to clean up and they are very good at that out there. The dig up the contaminated soil and haul it to a facility where they inoculate it with oil eating bacteria and blend it with mulch. Some of that ends up getting sold as potting soil, otherwise it is used for remediation work. That piece of land will be the greenest field in the area next year.

Central USA checking in. Part of why the pipeline being down isnt as big a thing as it could be is that one of the largest refineries in the central US is on "turn around" right now, meaning that it is only outputting about 10-20% of capacity.
