the fact that the G90 M5 is heavier, slower and more expensive than the M lite is rather insane. and also the new Jetta is really nice just sad they dropped the stick for the base one

Glad they are keeping the stick for the GLI. That’s a good looking car! I wonder how many they will sell and why they wouldn’t keep the manual for the 25 GTI. I just picked up a 24 GTI and am super glad I got to buy a manual GTI in 2024.

base jetta combo is indeed fun i’ve had mine since 2017 1.4 tsi with a manual it’s favorite car but it’s also my first car i added a stage 2 tune on it when i lost warranty and now im still at 160k miles but the motor is starting to show its age but still runs great

The new M5 makes me appreciate the relatively light 4800 lb Model S Plaid. The new M5 makes no sense, IMO.

The Jetta refresh is amazing! The manual in the base going away is sad of course but at least the GLI is still affordable and attainable *cough cough GR Corolla.

Affordable and even cheap cars exist. You could pay cash and have a safe, modern and reliable means of transportation.

Great that the Jetta is doing well and the refresh looks awesome. The best Jetta in my opinion would be an R line with a hybrid, 8s automatic, and independent rear suspension.

That new charger Daytona getting delayed all because of electrical issues don’t surprise me because it’s a freaking FCA product. I will never buy a Chrysler product new or used, well maybe the classic muscle cars and probably a challenger but still. People say GM and Ford is garbage but I’d trust those more then any new FCA cars and a freaking Boeing plane.

They're already doing an Mk 8.5 Golf R but they're rare and not cheap. I've only seen two Mk 8 Golf Rs being driven by a private owner and not a dealership car.

Happy the GLI is keeping the manual around a little longer. Odd they killed it for the ‘25 GTI though. Glad I got my ‘23 GTI 40th anniversary edition in manual!

So the BMW M5 is 5400 lbs. The Mercedes S 63 E Performance is 5700 lbs and faster. It's also humongous even compared to the 5 series.

I have a 22 Jetta Sport with the manual. I’m sad it’s only in the GLI now.
It is a fun combo! I even have a little muffler delete on it and it’s perfect now. If anything, I’ll go for a GLi in a year or 2
