Lithuanian National Anthem - Tautiška giesmė

Lithuanians around the world sing the Lithuanian National Anthem by Vincas Kudirka at 9 pm local time, July 6, 2014.

Lithuanian National Festival, Song Day "Here is My Home", Vingis Park, Vilnius.
Over fourteen thousand singers of different age from 400 choirs sing as one.
Lithuanian Army Band (artistic director maj.E.Ališauskas) accompany the choirs.

The idea of "National anthem across the globe" is simple as that: if you feel Lithuania is your homeland, on the day of Statehood at 9 pm stop for a moment and pay respect.
Tautiška giesmė will travel the world from mouth to mouth along with the light from Australia to USA, being sung in Lithuanian communities and individually at 9 pm local time.
This unique nation's tradition started back in 2009 with the legendary sailing voyage of the "Millennium Odyssey". Upon the invitation of the "Millennium Odyssey" yachtsmen, the national anthem joined Lithuanian communities, in the homeland and scattered around the world, for a few historic moments. It was a nations' way to proudly celebrate one thousand years anniversary of Lithuania. We have become the first nation to ever sing the national anthem simultaneously all over the world.

Kazio Daugėlos aranžuotė pučiamųjų instr. orkestrui.

Esame vienintelė tauta, kurios himnas vieną dieną metuose apskrieja visą Žemės rutulį.
Idėja visiems kartu vienu metu giedoti savo šalies himną gimė prieš penkerius metus.
Ši unikali tautos iniciatyva, palaikoma pavienių žmonių ir aktyvių bendruomenių, jau tapo mūsų laikų tradicija ir neatsiejama Lietuvos identiteto dalimi. Tai mus visus vienijantis įvykis ir gyvas įrodymas, kad ir nedidelė tauta gali daryti didelius bei reikšmingus dalykus.
