This beautiful village, Mawlynnong, might well be the cleanest village in Asia... Nothing out of place. Everyone seemed to be sweeping and pruning and building. Loved the energy in this place, extremely calming. The noise of nature is all you can hear. Perfect.
Balancing Rock, Mawlynnong: This is half a km away from the village, Rs 10 entry ticket per person.

We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh – A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand – We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month – month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

This village has a 100% literacy rate. Its not just that village but that entire part of the state is clean like that. You missed out on the Root bridges near Mawlynnong.
If I knew you were coming to Meghalaya, I would have been so happy to prepare an itinerary for you to see some of the touristy as well as non touristy places.
