Russia's president has confirmed an armed uprising is under way by Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner mercenary group. In a national address, Vladimir Putin called it a betrayal and vowed a harsh response.
Prigozhin says he's wants to oust Russia's military leadership and claims to have taken control of key military sites in the southern city of Rostov on Don. This includes the region's military headquarters - a key logistical base for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Kremlin is urging fighters in the Wagner group to abandon their leader. President Putin also said decisive action will be taken to stabilize the situation in Rostov on Don.

Putin: "Not a war. Special military operation."
Prigozhin: "Not a coup. Special security operation."

The special military operation is clearly going according to plan. But the plan is very strange.

It took Wagner 10 months to capture Bakhmut and 3 hours to take Rostov on Don.

Lavrov's silence is deafening. Probably busy securing his money and planning his escape.

I can't believe this is actually happening. Seems too good to be true.

Good news for Ukraine. The enemy is split and fights each other. Enjoy and stock popcorn.

It's a good thing Putin reserved that single T-34 for defense.

I don't need ammunition, I need a ride, Vlad Putin the Great

In his speech Putin sounded almost a bit desperate, even reaching all the way back to 1917 in an appeal to reason. Quite interesting.

Putin delivering a harsh response is completely dependent on the cooperation of his armed forces. Thus far they have remained passive and just let Wagner walk in.

You know Vlad is desperate when the ghosts of 1917 have to be resurrected in order to protect his regime from an
ex-con hot dog vendor gone rogue.🌭💥🇳🇱
