Stop by and have a look at The Energy Sovereignty Project Tyler. I'm currently entering month 4 of a year long study on the impact that battery storage can ultimately have on the duck curve over the course of a year.
Our system uses 6 powerwall 2 batteries for a usable total of just over 80kwh of storage on a 10kw PV system powering a home with an annual daily usage of 30kwh a day.
So most certainly a real world application as opposed to some folks that want to present this as working with smaller systems using austerity level energy conservation.
