Do you suffer from chronic bacterial prostatitis? In this video on UroChannel, Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen, explains this condition and what you can do to treat it. Generally, it is an inflammation of the prostate gland by bacteria.
Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a common condition that lasts for at least three months and can be difficult to treat successfully. The symptoms are similar to chronic abacterial prostatitis, including voiding problems, pain in the prostatic region, perineal pain, scrotum and penis pain, and inner leg discomfort. The main difference is that germs are detected in chronic bacterial prostatitis. The video explores diagnostic methods, such as detecting bacteria through urine tests and NAATs for sexually transmitted infections. Antibiotics, particularly fluoroquinolones, are the first-line treatment, but they come with the risk of severe side-effects. Prostate massage, though not fully understood, used to be a common treatment before effective antimicrobial agents were available.

I've had it 30 years, no one ever suggested what to do about it, or what kind I have.

This brief video is full of fascinating information, research, and visuals that make it easier for viewers like me to understand.
Shortly after finishing my research, I'll try to create a few videos about prostate health.
I appreciate your wonderful content.

I'll deal with it rather than take my chances with fluoroquinolone antibiotics. I'm (arguably) functional still lol. Even a 1-5% chance of experiencing severe and potentially life-long debilitating side effects from flouroquinolone antibiotics is NOT worth it.

It put me in the hospital in a state of delirium that lasted about 24 hours. Bacterial infections are serious.

I used trimethoprim and in 5 days a was clean. All the problems cease to exist.
Now the doctors are struggling to find out how the heck i got that bacteria in the first place!

Thank you Dr. for this informative video. My urologist suggest me using Ciprofloxacin for two weeks and my symptoms went away. Should I be using the Cipro for two more weeks in this case ?
