Philadelphia Zoo Blue Breasted Kingfisher Closeup

Even the birds in the African Savanna section of the McNeil Avian Center let visitors get really close to them, especially at times like this, on a cold winter day when there were not many visitors, and actually only one in the McNeil Avian Center (me).

Yes, I know, the Zoo would prefer to have lots of visitors year round. But, on days like this, I really feel like it is my zoo. Besides, the Zoo certainly does make up for times like this in the spring and summer when it is SO crowded!
