Engineers searching for a full-featured monitor controller for their DAW-based studio will find much to love about the API MC531. Inspired by the center section of API‘s acclaimed analog consoles, the MC531 includes a 41-detent control room knob for effortless volume control, along with a generous complement of I/O. This feature-packed desktop monitor controller also includes dual headphone outputs and a built-in talkback mic. Beyond that, the MC531 is built using the exact same circuitry you‘d find in a full-blown API console, yielding you low noise and crystal-clear sound.

I like how Mitch can present a piece of tech like this equally as well as a guitar or pedal

Congrats API for your reproduction of a control console from the 1966 Star Trek Enterprise TV Series! 🖖

Apparently you can not buy a ‘long lasting’ functional monitor controller without spending thousands of dollars. If the buttons and switches work on this thing for many years, could API please build a smaller version with less options, and the exact same standards ? Ditch the transformers, have only one headphone out, no fancy routing, just monitors A / B / and sub with the capability for all three to send a signal at the same time. Then all that’s left is having one input, and the typical buttons for dim / mono etc. If you could build that with high standards I would spend around $700 - $1000 for it. Getting closer to a $1000 will not help sales for the market demographic I’m talking about. Home studios need some love too, and we can’t afford to have ever piece of gear be commercial studio capable. I’m tired of our demographic having everything made for us in China. Is there anyone out there who even cares anymore about standards and quality at every demographic level ?

Still no SPEAKER REVERSE ! after spending how much money this thing is you cannot reverse the left to the right and vice-versa....yes i know you can use a plugin to do that ...you can use plugins to do 1/2 of what this thing does....NOT the point....speaker reverse should be a normal standard feature...thank you very much

What? $2, 495? is the frame made of gold or something? I own a few 500 series API's that in my opinion is a little bit overpriced but this is ridiculous. It's a monitor controller. Monitor controllers aren't supposed to "color" the sound.
