Six the Musical | 2021 Broadway trailer

The Broadway production of Six the Musical has announced an official return date of September 17 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

The musical, which was scheduled to open the night Broadway shut down, will celebrate its belated opening night on October 3. Single tickets for Six will go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 10 at 10am ET.

The production and theatre will follow all New York State, New York City, and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of actors, staff, and patrons, with protocols potentially including face coverings, health screenings, and more.

Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six features the six wives of Henry VIII reclaiming their identities as they transform from Tudor Queens into Pop Princesses. The musical originated as a student production by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society, which played a one-month run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. After subsequent runs in London and Edinburgh, it played a limited run at the Arts Theatre before touring the UK and reopening on the West End earlier this year.

The musical is codirected by Moss and Jamie Armitage, featuring choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille. The design team includes Emma Bailey (set design), Gabriella Slade (costume design), Paul Gatehouse (sound design), and Tim Deiling (lighting design). The score features orchestrations by Tom Curran with music supervision and vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton.

Casting will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Adrianna Hicks, Andrea Macasaet, Abby Mueller, Brittney Mack, Samantha Pauly, and Anna Uzele created their roles in the North American premiere of Six at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in 2019 and subsequently toured the show around North America before moving to Broadway in 2020.

This cast is just glorious... Those harmonies, and the way their voices just complement each other perfectly, it just can't be topped! Also, the absolute attitude-brilliance from them all, especially Andrea (Anne Boleyn) and Brittany (Anna of Cleves), just gives me life!

It kinda irks me how so many people give this cast shit because of their accents. Literally if y’all want accurate accents then the west end cast ain’t even close either!

Catherine Of Aragon should’ve had a Spanish accent.

Anne Boleyn probably should’ve had a French accent because she grew up in France despite being born in England.

Anna Of Cleves should’ve had a German accent because she was born and raised in Germany.


Like y’all literally have no right to be giving the Broadway cast shit about their accents when the west end cast ain’t even historically accurate with their accents either. I get you guys are used to the west end cast and you probably like them better which is fine. But don’t say all that type of stuff on the BROADWAY cast’s promotional material or content. That’s just straight up rude. Andrea Macasaet (Broadway Anne Boleyn) even said that it’s fine to prefer other casts and stuff but don’t be saying it all on her content cuz it’s not like you’re gonna find them on their videos. Sorry if I sound all whiny and stuff but it’s a little frustrating seeing some people not liking a cast because of ACCENTS. Like if you prefer the west end cast then that’s cool but don’t be trying to compare the casts and bring the Broadway cast down just because they aren’t like the west end cast.

wow, that trailer looks amazing! I am happy that Six gets the recognition that it deserves. By the way, I think it would be super cool if this channe could also post videos about other musicals, for example European and Australian or asian shows, because there are so many underrated shows in different languages out there. I personally only know German shows, but these are amazing and I wish more people would know of their existence!
