Neural DSP Archetype ABASI vs Kemper Profiling Amplifier

Not an attempt to tone match or anything, but just wanted to put the Archetype ABASI side by side with a Kemper so that we could hear if there's any differences that stand out.

Not a case of which is better, but if you've got a feeling for which sounds you prefer, feel free to leave a comment! Oh - and also hopefully the competition from Neural DSP may nudge Kemper to up their game a bit and allow dual profiles for one thing?

I can tell you that the Abasi can sound brighter. Here, it is the way the preset is dialled. The equalizer of this plugin is very effective. You have to tweak it a bit.

Man, the Abasi sounds killer. Can you share the settings, please? THANKS A LOT

The kemper on my opinion is really way more dynamic and brighter. However I dig the abasi because it’s low end is killer. I’m a fan of low end because to my personal taste low end gain sounds more of better quality. Kemper is nice for cleans but I guess I’ll go off the abasi just because I like the chunky beefy it ambient tone.

In this comparison the Kemper settings are cleaner and the ABASI goes more to crunch and thats why the most listeners think the ABASI sounding more muffled but its all about the settings . The big problem I had with the Kemper is that it was too clean or too distorted and nothing in between. With the Neural DSP plugins you can better dial betwenn Clean and Crunch and if you compare the price ...its pretty clear whos the winner here. Just my thoughts maybe not yours :)

Sounds lush, in the first track what are you using to trigger the loops/backing instruments? Or are they tracks on your DAW?

Both sound great but Kemper is set closer to clean and the Abasi more breakup so difficult to compare to my ears.

Another great video, thanks👌👌
As in the previous videos, the neural dsp has a fat warm sound what is great but the kemper is more realistic
Your playing is awesome!🤘🎸

This time, I like more Kemper tone than Neural. It feel more "natural" and a better Dynamic.

I prefer the Kemper tones. The Abasi sounds muffled and lacks the brightness that goes with a Strat type guitar. Just my opinion.

There’ll never be dual profiles on the current Kemper line up due to it requiring double the DSP. That comes from C Kemper himself. Maybe KPA2, if it’s ever developed.

Anyway, here I preferred the Kemper tones. Seemed more organic to me, perhaps because of them being more transparent and letting more of the raw strat tone shine through the gain. For me, it allowed more of your personality to come across. If I was going for a thick lead tone though, Abasi wins hands down here. Had quite a fuzzy edge to it that I quite liked.
