Meet Shannon - Virtually Paying it Forward

To label Shannon’s perseverance & drive as inspiring, would be a complete understatement. Currently studying medicine in college, Shannon works diligently to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor, all while she battles a difficult and relentless cancer. Last week we welcomed Shannon into the Weish4Ever Family. So humbly, she further reminded us what living every day as a gift truly means…

"My experience with cancer has proved that medicine is not only my passion but is also my calling. Having been a long-term patient and spending more than 120 days in the hospital over the past year, I have developed an understanding of what it means to be a patient, including the hardships and fears faced daily, and will use this perspective to be not only a better person, but also a better doctor. I am looking forward to the opportunity to give back through a role within the pediatric field and help aid young patients like myself in dealing with seemingly insurmountable situations."
