I don’t like that this video makes it sound like he was wrong for not caring about growing wealth for himself. He was smart enough to understand that money wasn’t everything and focused his energy on improving society. Somethings are worth financial sacrifice and he knew that.

Point #11. You don't have that quite right. The reason he quit was because Edison was trying to solve some technical problem. Tesla told him that he could do it. Edison didn't believe him and said, "Well, if you can do that, I'll give you $50, 000!! (or some large amount)" When Tesla came back with the problem solved, he demanded the bonus. Edison just laughed at him and said, "You don't understand American humor" and refused to pay it. That made Tesla furious. THAT'S why they parted company.
Tesla dug ditches for a time, just to make a living, rather than go back to work for Edison. That row is what started their life-long animosity toward each other. Plus, Tesla's alternating current electricity system ended up threatening Edison's network of direct current operations - so much so that Edison electrocuted a live elephant just to scare people from using alternating current in their homes. It definitely got ugly. That's why I get angry every time I see Edison's name all over the place and then hardly anyone knows who Tesla is. Tesla the humanitarian vs. Edison the profiteer.

Just looking at the name of the video, and giving it a like, is what I could do. Tesla was a great visionary. Modern day electricity is an example. This day we never use those dc machines, it's all 3 phase induction technology. Be it wireless communication technology or X-rays, nobody knows he was the man behind them. His role has been wiped from history books, thanks to Edison . Does Nicola Tesla need someone to read about him? He lives within our hearts. Thank you @alux
